About Jivdaya

 

The Bombay Humanitarian League was founded in 1910 by "DAYALANKAR" Shri Lallubhai Deepchand Jhaveri and "PRANI MITRA" Shri Jayantibhai Naradlal Mankar. ["DAYALANKAR" is designation, means a person whose ornament is mercy.”PRANI MITRA” means friend of animals.]

The trust was initially run successfully by founders and spread its activities in the whole Bombay State. The old Bombay state consist of Maharashtra & Gujarat. The trust was then managed by Shri Dasrathbhai Manilal Thakar for nearly 35 years. He dedicated his life to trust and its objectives.

 
Protection To Animals

To give "ABHAY" to animals, birds and marine life. ("ABHAY" means protected, unharmed from humans and "marine life" considers mainly fish)

 
Education for Vegetarian Lifestyle

To educate man for Vegetarian lifestyle to stop animal slaughter. (To Provoke opinion in favor of vegetarian living. )

 
Discontinue Cruel Ceremonies

To discontinue cruel ceremonies by creating mass opinion & forcing the authority to stop slaughtery.

 
Humane Welfare

To take up strictly non-political issues of Humane Welfare.
